I trained with Michael King at the prestigious Pilates Institute London in 2004 and am a fully insured Pilates and pre/post-natal Pilates Instructor with a level 3 Diploma in Pilates Mat work and level 3 pre/post-natal Exercise Programming.
I teach locally and aim to bring affordable, experienced and quality teaching to a variety of venues and people of all ages and abilities.
I have 19 years experience in the sports/fitness industry and hold a Sports Studies & Leisure Management degree. On graduating, I joined Champneys and became the Fitness Manager at the UK's largest Spa, Champneys Springs. It was there that I started teaching studio classes.
I trained with the Pilates Institute in Fundamental Matwork, Pilates on the Ball and Back Care, but have also trained with STOTT Pilates to include Flexibands which add variety and support to some of my classes. I have experience working alongside physiotherapists using Pilates for rehabilitation at RAF Brize Norton with military personnel.
After having my 2 children I decided to continue teaching as a freelance instructor and have been specialising in Pilates for 12 years now. My classes are kept small and run in 4-7 week blocks to allow for individual attention and progression, which I believe is fundamental to the Pilates method. The relaxing atmosphere and flow, which I like to create in my classes, makes the sessions stress releasing as well as functional.
I am a current GB age group triathlete competing at standard distance and am looking forward to my second year as part of the Team GB Triathlon Age Group team in 2019. I believe wholeheartedly in the benefits of Pilates to support many forms of physical activity and sport. By redressing postural imbalances caused by today's lifestyle as well as through activity, we can help to not only avoid injury but improve sports performance.
